چکیده

Methods 48 STEMI patients underwent CMR imaging at 1.5T (Siemens Avanto) at 4 ± 2 days post-PPCI and 40 completed a follow-up scan at 5 ± 2 months. Left ventricular (LV) short-axis native T1 (MOLLI), T2 and T2* maps were acquired. MVO was indicated by a hypo-intense core on LGE images. A hypo-intense core on T2*-maps with a T2*<20 ms was used for IMH (acutely) or chronic iron deposit (at follow-up). Mean segmental T2 and T1 values were obtained using CVI42 (Calgary, Canada). LV remodeling was defined as a 20% increase in LV end-diastolic volume on the follow-up scans.

Echocardiographic Predictors for Left Ventricular Remodeling after Acute ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction with Low Risk Group: Speckle Tracking Analysis

BACKGROUND We sought to assess echocardiographic predictors of left ventricular (LV) adverse remodeling after successfully reperfused acute ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). LV remodeling is commonly found in STEMI patients and it may suggest adverse outcome in acute myocardial infarction. We sought to identify whether 2D strain and torsion be independent parameters for prediction of ...

Glycemic Variability Determined by Continuous Glucose Monitoring System Predicts Left Ventricular Remodeling in Patients With a First ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction.

BACKGROUND Impaired glucose metabolism plays an important role in patients with acute myocardial infarction, but the clinical significance of glycemic variability (GV) early after the onset of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains to be fully elucidated. METHODS AND RESULTS We prospectively investigated the clinical impact of GV, as determined by a continuous glucose moni...

Microvascular obstruction persistence after early-reperfused myocardium infarction by CMR: analysis of first week and six months after STEMI

Introduction Detection of microvascular obstruction (MO) with gadolinium first-pass perfusion (FP) and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) MRI predicts outcomes of STEMI patients. Previous data indicate the presence of MO early after MI correlates to worse prognosis and left ventricular (LV) remodeling. Nonetheless, FP and early hypoenhancement on LGE may persist after reperfused STEMI for a vari...

Automated Extracellular Volume Fraction Mapping Provides Insights Into the Pathophysiology of Left Ventricular Remodeling Post–Reperfused ST‐Elevation Myocardial Infarction

BACKGROUND Whether the remote myocardium of reperfused ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients plays a part in adverse left ventricular (LV) remodeling remains unclear. We aimed to use automated extracellular volume fraction (ECV) mapping to investigate whether changes in the ECV of the remote (ECVR emote) and infarcted myocardium (ECVI nfarct) impacted LV remodeling. METH...

Positive effect of intravenous iron-oxide administration on left ventricular remodelling in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction - a cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) study

OBJECTIVES This study investigated the safety profile and potential "therapeutic" effect of intravenous ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron-oxide (USPIO)-based iron administration regarding infarct healing in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). USPIO-administration was recently shown to enable an improved characterization of myocardial infarct pathology in acute STEMI patien...
